San Francisco, CA — July 19th, 2012 —
Tapjoy, Inc. (www.tapjoy.com), a mobile advertising and publishing platform, is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Hough as senior vice president of engineering.
“Claire has built a solid reputation in Silicon Valley over the years,” said Mihir Shah, CEO of Tapjoy. “Her strong engineering expertise and proven leadership will help steer Tapjoy as we continue to grow and expand our product offerings.”
Hough is responsible for leading the engineering and operations teams. Since joining Tapjoy, she has become a member of the executive team directly responsible for the strategic direction of the company as well as leadership of worldwide engineering functions.
Prior to joining Tapjoy, Hough served as chief technology officer for Citrus Lane, an e-commerce and social media service targeting parents that she co-founded in 2011. She previously spent seven years at internet marketing company Nextag, Inc., where she held many senior-level positions during her tenure, with roles ranging from engineering to product management and operations. While serving as senior vice president at Nextag, Hough managed engineering and network operations and grew her team to more than 200 engineers.
Hough’s unique technology background includes 5 years at Netscape, where she was responsible for $95 million in revenue and managed a geographically diverse organization of 150 people as vice president and general manager of the directory and security products group. She also oversaw the development of four new server products, personally hired more than 60 engineers and completed multiple profitable acquisitions for the company.
Hough’s extensive background also includes the role of senior vice president of engineering and operations at Napster. Hired to bring business and delivery focus to the engineering and operations groups, she restructured Napster’s engineering teams and successfully delivered three beta releases within six months. With her vast experience building and expanding technology organizations and online commerce platforms, Tapjoy is confident that Hough will excel in her new role as senior vice president of engineering.
“I am thrilled to join Tapjoy and help expand the core engineering team to set new benchmarks within the mobile advertising industry,” said Hough. “With Tapjoy’s undeniable growth potential, this position provides me with the challenge to build on Tapjoy’s momentum and successfully guide the company through its exciting future opportunities.”
